Crossroads Carnegie Art Center First Friday Art Walk exhibit
Join Crossroads Carnegie Art Center on First Friday every month, during First Friday Art Walk in Baker City Downtown. Crossroads announces their featured artists prior to each month. Following is information about the November 2024 event.
Visit Crossroads Carnegie Art Center on First Friday, November 1, for the opening of Bonnie Peacher and Gina Cole’s featured show. Both artists are figurative painters from Boise, Idaho, each with their own style for portraying people from around the world. This exhibit is on display through November 30th.
Bonnie Peacher holds a BFA from Boise State University with an emphasis in painting and art history. Her award-winning work has appeared in more than 200+ exhibitions and collections, including The College of Idaho’s permanent “Idaho Women’s Collection.” Ms. Peacher is also active in the local art advocacy and education community. Currently she is a board member of BOSCO, art consultant for the Riverside Hotel, the curator for the Garden City Library arts exhibition program, and member of TVAA. Past board positions include the Treasure Valley Artists Association, Boise Art Museum docents, and BSU Visual Arts League.
Mongina “Gina” Cole is originally from Thailand, based in Boise, and works predominately in oils. She attended Boise State University and received a degree in Radiologic Science. But after working full-time as a radiologist Gina was unfulfilled and art became her therapy - painting gave her purpose. Fred Choate and John Killmaster became her mentors and teachers, which inspired her to gain a second career. Gina is interested in portraying the human condition, capturing the emotional side of raw human experience. Her portraits often present an intensely personal and evocative body of work.
The art center is open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the First Friday show opening continuing till 8 p.m. each month.
